Past - Present - Future
For the ex 60s, 70s and 80’s fan, creation can only go through music, graphics, shapes and colours specific to these decades (Lego, Rubik Cub) drawing over and over again his inspiration in the golden age of clothes revolution while, at the same time, bringing it up to date and adapting it to the spirit of the time.
His signature: the choice of colours – bright, primary; the cuts: slim, baggy, A-line or XXL, as well as the choice of materials at the forefront of technology (cotton mix, stretch, plush, acrylic fur, synthetic fabrics doubled with diverted shapes and wax objects, multiple bear cubs, or artists’ hyper graphics, patchwork of fabrics !
Both patron and collector, taking part in charity events, he is one of the rare creators to raise the idea of collaborating with other artists to the standing of art just as Schiaparelli in his time.
His “Rock n'Roll”, Swinging-London, avant-garde mind and his friendly choice of artists, drive him to collaborate and to collect Robert Combas, Mapplethorpe, Duane Michals, Pierre & Gilles, Boisrond, Keith Haring, and of course Warhol, absolute reference of Pop Culture. All that in the “Nostalgia of the future”, i. e. childhood, adolescence and its recovered illusions keeping in mind photo-graphical and poetic messages, with post-situationist graphics and slogans: an ode to youth!
His retrospective at the Galliera Museum in 2005, showed the extreme kaleidoscope of his creations over 3 decades: Pop Art, colours, derived design, are the creator’s credo in time / out of time.
