Dream Your Dream
After working for theatres, putting hats on bright and strong heads and dressing up inhabited doll houses, Christophe Coppens brings up spirit and dreams to couture.
With a surrealist vision, animal creations, taxidermist for teddy bears, fur eagles tamer, tiger heads as scarves, this young overgifted and overworked man escapes Belgium to present "dream your dream" his second couture collection which meets with the first one in the gallery. A "hanged by the feet" bag between dog and sheep, small torture with golden handles, or triple body to body in multicolors, Christophe Coppens disconnects and reconnects with the very classic couture mannequin from where its creations emerge under discreets sunlights: Virgin with the child and ghetto blaster, padded and tight corset, flower gardens and optical forest.
He shares with us his taste for theatrical set ups, collections in several acts, with a strange, obscure, rare and enchanting beauty.
