ARTIST JEWELLERY AT "MY AUNT".

The MONT-DE-PIÉTÉ presents part of the CLO FLEISS artist jewels collection.
Paradoxically, this historic pawnbroking place, where you trade personal precious items against money and this exhibition make for a unique artistic value.

Those are unique pieces or limited editions made on demand by artists; all pieces bear the artist original signature just like a work of art or a famous jeweller.

Transparent, ethereal boxes are the ideal setting for those jewels that actually are miniature sculptures.
Because, yes, in fact, those jewels are sculptures, regardless of the fact their material is precious or not ranging from rings, necklaces, brooches and bracelets.
To wear a little bit of art, unique and exclusive pieces, jewels that tell a story, that must be a thrilling experience.
In this fascinating exhibition, from surrealism to new realists and pop culture, all artists, known, established or emerging are being featured.

MERET OPPENHEIM opens the show with a golden bracelet covered with fur, a vibrant testimony to modernity (the piece was designed for ELSA SCHIAPPARELLI, the fashion designer who has enriched her collections thanks to the creativity of GIACOMETTI, DALI, COCTEAU, ARAGON).
The protheiform PICASSO had obviously to be part of this event.
ALBERTO GIACOMETTI designs little objects, sculptures, jewels featuring mythologies and sphynges.
ALEXANDER CALDER overwhelms women with jewels, he tinkers about, assembles, has fun with all kind of materials and experiments for the sheer joy of creating and revisiting the «déjà vu».
The shadow of ROBERT MITCHUM looms over ISAAC JULIEN’S reincarnation of "LOVE HATE" in fist rings.
SALVATORE DALI answers the telephone with gold dripping handsets.
ARMAN built in a pair of earing his musical universe, a poetical «compression».
YOKO ONO did a solo "IMAGINE PEACE" ring.

Words as always for BEN "JE ME SENS LIBRE", "LOVEROBERT INDIANA and "AIDS" for GENERAL IDEA, NIKI DE SAINT-PHALLE in her heavenly joyful multi-color universe of Girls and Snakes, SAR moulds in compressed gold miniatures or soda caps and CINDY SHERMAN faithful to her I,
myself game becomes a fortune teller on a brooch.
Last but by all means not least LUCIO FONTANA drills and scars jewels like his own canvas.

This miniature museum is an open invitation to travel through the world of modern and contemporary art and is full of remarkable treasures in this very rare and personal exhibition.
