Organised thematically rather than chronologically, the retrospective  reveals the full scope of the Lalannes’ creativity in a wide range of works. The exhibition opens with three major sculptures, L’homme à tête de chou and Caroline enceinte by Claude and Le Lapin à vent by François-Xavier.
Extending through three spaces, the exhibition transforms the nave’s
central area into a château garden, with a herd of sheep set in greenery and a pond with birds and water-lilies.
The right-hand side-aisle takes us on a visit of a residence entirely decorated by the Lalanne, through six rooms with different themes : Interior, Lalanne and Yves Saint-Laurent, The Minotaur, The dinner
table, Singeries and Intimate Lalanne.
The opposite side-aisle is structured more freely, with a décor of foliage and animals concealing their hidden uses in their stomachs: the rhinocerosdesk, the hippopotamus-bathroom, the baboon-fireplace, the fly-toilet, etc.
The exhibition design is by the architect Peter Marino, a long-time collector of the Lalannes’ work. Familiar with their universe for over thirty years, he has done much to secure recognition of their work in the United States and the rest of the world.
